Steam Boiler Water Treatment Training to BG04 Standard

The only way of knowing what is going on inside your steam system is by testing your water and understanding what is happening and then by applying that knowledge. This course will enable you to operate a safer and more energy efficient system, prolong plant life and limit downtime, thereby lowering your total operational cost. The Combustion Engineering Association in partnership with Deep Water Blue Ltd. have developed a new course aimed at water testing for people with minimal knowledge of chemistry and water treatment. This course is specifically designed for engineers and those who own or run a steam boiler or steam generator and not for water treatment or water hygiene people.

Please note:

  • All testing materials for the practical element of the course are available to purchase in advance from Deep Water Blue Limited and include video methods. This is to allow you to practice your testing in advance of the course and whilst it is being delivered.
  • Real steam system water samples are provided which you can see being tested by our personnel in the live stream practical session.
  • Feel free to send us water samples from your own steam system, in advance of the course, if you wish us to test or discuss them. Similarly, if you have service reports or site data, that you wish to discuss, please send it to us in advance of the course to; [email protected]
  • All tests are via the drop test style method.
  • the following tests are covered: sulphite, total hardness, M Alk, P Alk, pH, TDS, phosphate, and chloride.

The two day programme includes:

The basics of water and water treatment
Obtaining good quality samples safely
